About this role
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical leader and architect for Walmart's Marketplace Orders and Returns platform. You will drive architectural excellence, design scalable microservices, and lead platform engineering initiatives to enhance developer productivity and system resilience. This role involves solving complex distributed systems challenges and influencing technical decisions across multiple teams.

- Drive technical vision and architecture for Marketplace Orders and Returns systems
- Design and scale event-driven, microservices-based platforms and web front-end applications
- Lead end-to-end architecture across backend services and modern web front-end (React/Redux)
- Lead platform engineering initiatives to improve scalability and reusability
- Solve complex challenges in distributed systems, including data consistency and resiliency
- Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization
