Senior Software Engineer

Abbott is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and optimize backend systems for their Lingo health platform. This role involves developing scalable microservices and APIs using Java Spring Boot, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers. The position requires a strong background in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and experience with messaging systems and Kubernetes.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs for real-time biosensor data processing
• Build and evolve backend services using Java Spring Boot
• Implement event-driven integrations with messaging and streaming systems
• Collaborate with SRE to ensure observability, performance, and operational excellence
• Participate in architecture and design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
