About this role

GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the architecture, scalability, and reliability of their identity platform. This role involves defining how consumer and enterprise identity converge into a unified, secure system, directly impacting user trust and how engineering teams build identity-dependent features. You will own significant system problems end-to-end, driving impact on trust, personalization, and the causes supported by GoFundMe.

What we are looking for

Lead architecture for authentication, authorization, session management, and token lifecycle
Define trust boundaries and platform primitives for secure identity services
Make build-vs-integrate decisions for identity systems
Architect enterprise identity onboarding (SSO, SCIM)
Own consumer identity lifecycle and identity resolution capabilities
Mentor engineers and contribute to system reliability and incident response
