About this role

Leidos is seeking a Software Development Engineer to modernize the FAA's air traffic control system, focusing on the ERAM technology that powers the Next Generation Air Transportation System. You will develop and maintain critical software for air traffic management, improving system availability, performance, and collaboration for controllers and the flying public.

What we are looking for

Develop and maintain FAA air traffic control software (Ada95/C++) on UNIX/Linux
Modernize AT control system by improving ERAM availability and performance
Optimize flight controller collaboration and decision-making capabilities
Real-time programming on high availability systems
Low-level operating systems customization (RedHat, LINUX)
Python, C++, Linux skills required
