Principal Software Engineer

Upstart is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for their Bank Technology team. You will drive architectural direction, solve complex technical challenges, and establish engineering patterns for internal platforms and security automation systems. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions for critical bank operations.

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of internal platforms and security automation
• Establish scalable engineering patterns and technical standards
• Partner with risk, compliance, legal, and operations stakeholders
• Design relational data models, authorization systems, and platform services
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership and best practices
• Drive technical strategy for internal platforms and automation initiatives
