Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Applied AI

Fora is seeking a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to build and scale AI-driven products and infrastructure for their modern travel agency platform. This role focuses on developing and optimizing AI co-pilots, agent orchestration, and evaluation systems, requiring strong Python, AWS, and Kubernetes skills, along with a deep understanding of applied AI and LLMs.

• Partner with Product Manager and Designer to define Applied AI roadmap
• Design and build MCP tooling for data and service layer exposure
• Build and harden agent orchestration for quality, cost, and speed
• Design evaluations and observability for non-deterministic AI systems
• Focus on performance, latency, architecture, and clean code
• Collaborate with engineers across the company on end-to-end solutions
