Software Engineer - Embedded Firmware

Zipline is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to build safety-critical software for their autonomous drone delivery aircraft. You will work on the lowest level software, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless aircraft operation within the world's largest drone delivery network. This role involves designing and improving flight software reliability, analyzing runtime characteristics, and developing metrics for field deployment.

• Design and build software for critical flight and safety processes on microcontrollers
• Improve reliability of flight software and develop fault management strategies
• Analyze avionics software performance and optimize where required
• Develop metrics, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities for field deployment
• Design and build data collection and testing tools for new hardware
• Proficiency in C++, Rust, or Python for embedded systems
