About this role

The New York Times is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Developer Platforms team. You will build and enhance generative AI-powered developer tooling and platform capabilities to improve developer experience and efficiency across the organization. This role involves designing and implementing AI-assisted workflows, managing guardrails and observability for agentic systems, and collaborating with engineering teams to integrate these solutions.

Build and operate the GenAI developer platform using LiteLLM
Own guardrails and observability for agentic workflows
Collaborate with engineers and managers to understand and improve development practices
Ensure ethical and safe use of AI in developer workflows
Experience with Go, AWS, and Kubernetes
