About this role

Join Walmart's Global Data Foundation team as a Staff Software Engineer to build next-generation data infrastructure at scale. You will design, build, and operate distributed platform services and APIs using Java and Python, contributing to AI-powered capabilities and ensuring platform reliability. This role offers the opportunity to set technical direction, mentor engineers, and influence engineering standards across a foundational team.

What we are looking for

Design, build, and operate distributed platform services and APIs using Java and Python on Kubernetes
Apply domain-oriented design and system design rigor to ambiguous platform problems
Build AI, GenAI, and agentic-powered platform capabilities
Own platform reliability, scalability, and observability with a strong OE/EE discipline
Guide architecture and system design decisions for microservices and event-driven systems
Set technical direction and best practices, mentoring other engineers
