Lead Flight Software Engineer

Space Kinetic is seeking a Lead Flight Software Engineer to design and develop mission-critical software for spacecraft control, autonomy, communication, and safety. This role involves leading software architecture, design, implementation, and validation in a fast-paced prototyping environment, with a focus on reliability and adherence to space flight standards. The position requires a strong technical leader with deep experience in embedded real-time systems and a passion for advancing space technologies.

• Lead flight software architecture design, including GNC, telemetry, command, and fault management
• Define software requirements, interfaces, and verification strategies
• Develop real-time, fault-tolerant software using C/C++ and/or Rust
• Ensure compliance with space flight standards through design and code reviews
• Mentor software engineers and enforce code quality
• Support spacecraft and hardware-in-the-loop testing
