About this role

Morningstar is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Casper team, which builds and operates the internal developer platform. You will design, build, and enhance services, developer tools, and infrastructure that streamline the software development lifecycle for application developers using AWS. This role involves owning features from conception to production monitoring, collaborating with other engineers, and improving platform reliability and developer experience.

What we are looking for

Design, build, and enhance capabilities across the Casper ecosystem, deployment automation, and supporting platform services
Own well-scoped features from initial requirements through implementation, testing, release, and production monitoring
Work with application developers and platform engineers to understand pain points and improve the developer experience
Contribute to the reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of a production platform
Use modern development practices and AI tools, while maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and technical judgment
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD
