Software Engineer, Custom Automation

Unchained Labs is seeking a Software Engineer to develop custom automation solutions for scientific research instruments. You will create software, AI-assisted tools, and automation workflows that integrate robotics, motion control, and precision instrumentation. This role offers the opportunity to own projects from concept to delivery and collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team.

• Develop custom lab automation software, firmware, and scripting solutions
• Create software for interacting with and controlling automation hardware
• Collaborate with domain experts to extend the Unchained software platform
• Utilize AI for code generation, troubleshooting, and debugging
• Hands-on testing and development on hardware
• Experience with hardware communication protocols (CANBUS, Serial, TCP/IP, etc.)
