About this role

Slate is building a direct-to-consumer EV brand and seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical design of our digital platform. You will shape the customer experience by designing and evolving key systems, making critical technical decisions, and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to define how customers interact with an entirely new automotive brand.

What we are looking for

Lead technical design, architecture, and implementation of major digital platform systems
Drive engineering decisions and align technical direction across multiple teams
Solve complex, ambiguous problems with incomplete information
Own code quality, system tests, and integration for critical components
Collaborate with UX and Product to invent customer-first solutions
10+ years of experience building scalable, customer-facing software systems
