Staff Software Engineer, DUE Experience

Waymo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to define and drive the technical vision for autonomous, multi-agent systems within the Driver Understanding and Evaluation (DUE) team. This role involves leading the exploration and application of state-of-the-art agentic technologies to automate complex triage workflows and architecting scalable agentic frameworks. You will collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and translate big-picture concepts into actionable projects for autonomous systems.

• Define and drive technical vision and architectural strategy for autonomous, multi-agent systems
• Lead exploration and application of state-of-the-art agentic technologies for triage automation
• Architect, design, and guide implementation of scalable agentic frameworks
• Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for agentic workflows
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers
• Identify and advocate for problems worth solving, creating actionable roadmaps
