Principal, Technical Product Manager - AI Frontiers

Upwork is seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager to lead the development of AI-native work solutions within its AI Frontiers team. This deeply technical role involves owning the product strategy and roadmap, making critical AI architecture decisions, and driving the progression from human-assisted to automated workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern AI, a track record of 0-to-1 product leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Own product vision, roadmap, and specifications for AI-assisted workflows
• Make core AI architecture decisions, including model selection and integration
• Drive human-to-AI progression and automation without sacrificing quality
• Build an evaluation-first practice for AI feature development
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and data
• Manage go-to-market strategy for early AI product cohorts
