IT Network Control Specialist I

Duke Energy is seeking an IT Network Control Specialist I to monitor and resolve issues across various network systems including SONET, DWDM, LAN, WAN, and VOIP. This role involves facilitating major incident resolution, coordinating support staff, and communicating event status to stakeholders. The position offers a hybrid work environment and requires a foundational understanding of telecommunications technologies.

• Monitor and resolve data and transport network issues
• Facilitate major incident resolution and coordinate support staff
• Communicate event status to interested parties
• Perform equipment testing and vendor support management
• Respond to alarms and act as a central communications center for telecom issues
• Requires Associate's degree in IT or equivalent experience and CCNA certification
