Research Scientist - 3 / 4

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Research Scientist to develop and research advanced carbon materials for aerospace applications. This role involves designing material properties, providing subject matter expertise, and leading technical roadmaps for high-temperature thermal protection and ablative materials. You will collaborate with R&D and production teams, conduct failure investigations, and author specifications.

• Research and develop current and future ablative materials
• Lead technical roadmap for high temperature & ablative materials
• Design and develop subscale components and test fixtures
• Develop manufacturing processes with novel thermal protection materials
• Present data and recommendations to internal and external customers
• Support failure investigations and production issues

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Requires a Secret security clearance.
