Translational AI Engineer

Pfizer is seeking a Translational AI Engineer to embed within their Research Unit, focusing on transforming AI workflow concepts into robust, scalable systems for translational science. This role bridges scientific intent with production-quality infrastructure, translating needs from computational biology, immunology, and clinical teams into fit-for-purpose AI systems and building the necessary data, evaluation, and deployment layers.

• Convert AI workflow concepts into durable, evaluated, and supportable systems
• Translate scientific needs into fit-for-purpose AI systems (generative AI, RAG, foundation models)
• Build data, evaluation, integration, and deployment layers for AI systems
• Harden AI-assisted codebases and implement cloud deployment and CI/CD patterns
• Develop evaluation harnesses to identify scientific, clinical, and technical failure modes
• Apply translational engineering judgment to build reliable AI systems
