Staff Machine Learning Engineer

PayPal is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in San Jose, CA to develop and deploy advanced ML models for product recommendations, personalized user experiences, and customer lifecycle optimization. You will design and implement scalable generative AI solutions and work closely with engineering teams to enhance customer experience. The role requires communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences and influencing partners with insights.

• Develop and implement advanced ML models (gradient boosted decision trees, GNNs, deep learning)
• Design and deploy scalable generative AI and ML/AI solutions
• Optimize customer lifecycle and personalize product experiences
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with PyTorch, Tensorflow, Scala, Java, and Python
• Experience with real-time recommendation systems and feature engineering pipelines
