Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Data Mining

Motional is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build the core of their data mining framework for autonomous vehicles. You will design and train large multimodal models and distill them into efficient student models for real-time data analysis. This role involves working with representation learning, retrieval optimization, and reinforcement learning to accelerate the model improvement lifecycle.

• Architect and train distilled teacher-student models for multimodal sensor data
• Develop RL-based policy learning and reasoning systems for autonomous driving
• Optimize ML model deployment for real-time inference on GPU/CPU clusters
• Research and integrate agentic systems for autonomous reasoning
• Ensure production reliability and operational excellence of the data platform
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
