Machine Learning Research Engineer

As an AI/ML Applied Research Engineer, you will be the first user of our internal ML Research platform, focusing on benchmarking and stress-testing our distributed ML stack. You will leverage AI agents to identify bottlenecks and create a frictionless environment for testing novel machine learning models on large-scale data. Your role involves acting as a technical advisor, sharing insights on research progress and guiding the strategic direction of central engineering efforts.

• Serve as the primary feedback loop for the entire ML stack
• Run complex models through the full ML pipeline to test training and inference environments
• Build high-level abstractions to bypass setup friction for ML research
• Leverage AI agents and auto-research workflows for autonomous experiments
• Document and publish empirical findings on system capabilities and hardware performance
• Act as a bridge between infrastructure builders and ML researchers
