AI Materials Research Engineer

Applied Materials is seeking an AI Materials Research Engineer to advance semiconductor materials discovery using AI/ML and computational methods. This role involves developing AI models for materials prediction, screening, and design, applying computational techniques like DFT and MD, and building informatics pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative Scientific AI solutions.

• Develop AI/ML models for materials property prediction, screening, and generative design
• Apply computational materials methodologies including DFT, MD, and kMC
• Build AI surrogate models to accelerate simulation-driven research
• Create materials informatics pipelines integrating experimental, simulation, and literature data
• Develop AI copilots for literature review, hypothesis generation, and experiment planning
• Collaborate with materials scientists, process engineers, and AI teams
