Senior Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Lilly is seeking a Senior Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join their AI Engineering team in Bengaluru, India. This role focuses on hands-on engineering, MLOps, platform reliability, and GenAI/agentic systems. You will design and build production backend systems, lead technical decision-making, and mentor other engineers.

• Design and build production backend systems for agentic AI applications
• Lead resolution of highly complex, cross-system technical challenges
• Own GitOps and engineering-governance standards
• Drive triage and resolution of complex, cross-system production incidents
• Own architecture for agentic AI systems, including RAG/knowledge-registry design
• Lead evaluation and adoption of new agent frameworks and GenAI tooling
