AI Cloud Data Scientist

UMB is seeking an AI Cloud Data Scientist to develop AI solutions, including agentic AI systems and LLM applications, to modernize banking operations. You will partner with business leaders to frame problems, design and prototype solutions, and ensure their value is proven before handing them off to engineering teams for production. This role involves building reusable tools and evaluation practices to enhance the broader data science team's capabilities.

• Design and build multi-step agentic AI systems on AWS Bedrock Agents
• Engineer prompts and context for LLM applications
• Partner with business teams to decompose processes and identify AI modernization opportunities
• Build, evaluate, and reason about machine learning models end-to-end
• Implement guardrails, human-in-the-loop checks, and governance controls
• Build reusable skills, workflows, and tools for data science productivity
