Research Scientist

Agrilife Research is seeking a Research Scientist to conduct complex independent research on antiviral RNA interference and immune pathways in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This role involves designing, executing, and analyzing multidisciplinary research studies using advanced techniques in molecular biology, virology, and genetics. The scientist will contribute to publications, reports, and grant activities, fostering a collaborative research environment.

• Conduct independent research on antiviral RNAi and immune pathways in Aedes aegypti
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments using molecular biology, virology, and genetics
• Contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, and grant proposals
• Collaborate with investigators and mentor research personnel
• Manage complex research activities and ensure compliance with biosafety requirements
• Requires PhD in a life sciences field and 6 years of related research experience
