AI Engineer

Amentum is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI capabilities within secure, disconnected government environments. This role focuses on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning open-weight language models, and ensuring their secure deployment on government infrastructure. You will also educate customers and internal teams on AI technology and responsible adoption.

• Design, build, and deploy AI systems integrating ML models into production software
• Expertise in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and model adaptation methods
• Experience with open-weight language models and their secure deployment
• Familiarity with AI security and compliance in classified environments
• Proficiency in Python and LLM orchestration frameworks
• Ability to explain AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

• Requires a Ts Sci security clearance.
