AI Research Engineer

LanceDB is seeking an AI Research Engineer to collaborate with their research team on open-ended research projects. You will focus on end-to-end training flows across various AI domains, demonstrating how LanceDB can accelerate these processes. This role offers the chance to pursue your research interests, significantly improve the product, and raise awareness for its capabilities.

• Demonstrate LanceDB for end-to-end model training from curation to modeling
• Compare LanceDB workflows with standard training flows via experiments and benchmarking
• Provide core content and collaborate to increase awareness for features like blobv2 and distributed indexing
• Publish research papers and models on LanceDB's blog, social media, and at AI conferences
• Partner with engineering and product teams to provide researcher feedback
• 5+ years of experience training deep learning models, ideally with video, action, or world models
