Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Roche is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join their AI for Drug Discovery team. This role focuses on engineering, scaling, and operationalizing internal Large Language Models and agentic systems to accelerate drug discovery and development. You will work on architecting autonomous agents, building scalable ML systems, and defining the MLOps/AgentOps stack.

• Architect and deploy autonomous agents for drug discovery workflows
• Design and build large-scale distributed training and inference systems
• Own the MLOps/AgentOps stack for ML lifecycle management
• Define long-term engineering roadmap for foundation models and agentic systems
• Translate scientific problems into efficient, shippable systems
• Exceptional Python programming and software engineering fundamentals
