Senior Applied Scientist (all genders)

Zalando is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to join their Content Personalization & Governance team in Berlin. You will develop and deploy advanced deep learning and reinforcement learning models to enhance content discovery and ranking systems for millions of customers. This role involves leading research initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior scientists.

• Develop and deploy state-of-the-art Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning models
• Formulate and solve multi-objective ranking and allocation problems at scale
• Contribute to long-term research roadmaps for personalized content discovery
• Partner closely with Principal Scientists, Data/ML Engineers, and Product Managers
• Act as a mentor and technical sparring partner to scientists
• Expertise in Python, AWS, Deep Learning, Recommender Systems, and RL
