Senior Machine Learning Engineer II, Search & Recommendations Ranking

Instacart is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II to join their Search & Personalization ML team. You will architect and build the ranking backbone that unifies search, discovery, recommendations, and ads. This role focuses on optimizing for long-term value and user experience through advanced ML techniques.

• Architect foundational ranking backbone models for search, recommendations, and ads
• Design and build value-aware optimization and long-horizon objective functions
• Develop production-grade Multi-Task Learning models
• Own the inference layer with low-latency optimization
• Advance evaluation practices including online experiments and causal inference
• Mentor ML engineers in ranking and causal inference
