Director of Engineering, Machine Learning Recommendations

Lead Etsy's Recommendations Engineering team, driving the technical strategy for personalized discovery across the marketplace. You will manage ML engineers, applied scientists, and systems engineers, evolving models from current state-of-the-art to next-generation LLM-powered experiences. This role focuses on inspiring buyers and connecting them with relevant listings through innovative ML solutions.

• Define and drive multi-year product and technical roadmap for Recommendations ML
• Lead and grow a team of ML engineers, applied scientists, and platform engineers
• Partner with product, UX, and cross-functional ML teams
• Drive architectural evolution towards generative and LLM-integrated recommendation systems
• Set technical bar for model development, experimentation, and productionization
