Senior Staff Engineer, Agentic AI Engineering

Waymo is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead the development of agentic AI systems for autonomous driving evaluation. This role focuses on redefining how we hillclimb and build evaluation frameworks to scale the Waymo Driver, addressing complex long-tail behaviors and ensuring safety and reliability.

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems
• Develop automated evaluation frameworks and objective metrics
• Automate the building and scaling of complex AI evaluation problems
• Proven technical leader with AI/ML expertise and production deployment experience
• Extensive experience in architecting and building large-scale systems
• Define technical strategy and influence senior leadership
