Research Engineer / Scientist, Data & Evals

Harvey is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to build the data and measurement systems that power our AI model training and evaluation efforts. You will own synthetic data pipelines, design evaluations, and develop systems to translate expert feedback into training signals. • Build synthetic data pipelines for complex legal reasoning and agentic workflows
• Design and calibrate evaluations against expert judgment
• Develop capability benchmarks and product-focused evaluations
• Define quality metrics and grading mechanisms with legal domain experts
• Own training and evaluation data quality and provenance
• Translate ambiguous goals and expert judgment into measurable criteria
