Software Engineer, RL Data

Cursor is building the future of coding by automating code generation. As a Software Engineer on the RL Data team, you will create the tasks, rewards, and environments used to train their coding agents. You will own the data that goes into training, defining what the model is asked to do and how it is scored.

• Design and iterate on task sets to teach specific agent capabilities
• Analyze agent traces to identify and address failure modes
• Develop reusable systems for rewards, environments, and data quality
• Collaborate with research to validate dataset effectiveness
• Write careful, fast code with strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with infra, data, or distributed systems is valuable
