About this role

Leidos is seeking a motivated Research Engineer Intern to support the U.S. Department of Energy at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh. You will work with world-class researchers on cutting-edge research to enhance oil production from unconventional reservoirs by developing and testing secondary recovery methods.

What we are looking for

Assist with rock and fluid characterization for oil saturation mapping and fluid properties
Design and conduct laboratory tests to enhance oil and gas recovery from unconventional reservoirs
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
Pursuing a Master's degree in petroleum engineering or related field
Experience with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance scanning and interfacial science
Experience interpreting experimental data using Python or MATLAB is preferred
