About this role
Join a multidisciplinary research team at the Air Force Research Laboratory supporting initiatives in biomaterials, protein engineering, and biomanufacturing. This role involves hands-on BSL-2 laboratory research in microbial physiology, molecular cloning, and recombinant protein expression, with opportunities to expand into novel biomaterials development.
What we are looking for
6- Design and execute molecular biology protocols including plasmid construction and cloning
- Engineer proteins for optimized functions and novel applications
- Perform recombinant protein expression and purification
- Culture and characterize diverse bacterial and fungal strains in BSL-2 environments
- Analyze complex biological data and troubleshoot experimental workflows
- Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and computational scientists
