Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Dow Jones is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and build core systems for LLM applications, focusing on orchestration, tooling, and evaluation for production environments. This role involves creating composable tools, building evaluators, and hardening the platform for scale, reporting to the Director of Data Science & Insights.

• Design and build orchestration, prompting, and workflow layers for AI features
• Create composable tools and integrations, including retrieval and MCP servers
• Build evaluators, dashboards, and alerts for accuracy, latency, cost, and hallucination
• Harden the platform for production scale: caching, reliability, incidents, and rollbacks
• Set technical bar through architecture decisions, design reviews, and mentoring
• 2+ years' experience in software/ML engineering, with 1+ year building LLM systems in production
