About this role

HubSpot is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to build the foundational AI infrastructure powering our next generation of agentic product experiences. You will focus on core systems like agent runtime, evaluation, and model optimization, creating leverage across the company. This is a high-scope infrastructure role for a senior technical leader excited by ambiguous, foundational problems.

What we are looking for

Build production ML/AI infrastructure for agent runtime, evaluation, and model optimization
Develop tooling for understanding model performance and user needs
Design signal pipelines to proactively identify quality issues
Define AI benchmarks for HubSpot-specific workloads
Create systems for evaluating new models, reducing costs, and improving quality
Experience with LLM infrastructure, production ML, and building scalable systems
