About this role

Motional is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the design and development of an AI-powered framework for evaluating autonomous vehicle performance using LLMs and drive logs. This role involves creating an off-board evaluation layer to assess driving intelligence and identify safety incidents, bridging software development with real-world deployment.

What we are looking for

Technically oversee Embodied AI & LLM framework for event identification and enrichment
Oversee multi-modal data fusion for holistic diagnostic context
Develop prompt engineering and model integration strategies
Architect AI inference and evaluation scalability for LLMs
Define and implement key autonomous vehicle performance metrics
Lead cross-functional technical collaboration with Autonomy and Systems teams
