Principal Machine Learning Engineer - Remote

Amgen is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead AI initiatives from concept to validated proof of concept. You will partner with business leaders and technical teams to shape ideas, assess feasibility, and build AI solutions that demonstrate measurable outcomes. This role involves architectural decision-making, addressing data readiness, and establishing reusable patterns to scale successful proofs of concept into enterprise solutions.

• Lead AI initiatives from business idea through validated proof of concept
• Architect and build AI PoCs using LLMs, agentic workflows, and RAG
• Evaluate feasibility and business value through practical experimentation
• Define scalable architectures and create reusable components
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Deep full-stack development skills including Python and cloud platforms
