Staff Scientist - Engineering

Conduct and lead advanced theoretical, computational, and experimental research on ultrasonic thin-film atomization and pintle-based liquid atomization for DARPA and ONR projects. Develop predictive design tools and seek understanding of complex fluid physics phenomena. This role involves leading research, designing experiments, developing simulations, analyzing data, and mentoring junior researchers.

• Lead theoretical and mathematical modeling of atomization phenomena
• Design and conduct experiments using high-speed imaging and flow measurements
• Develop numerical simulations and machine-learning workflows
• Analyze data with uncertainty quantification and maintain reproducible records
• Prepare sponsor reports, manuscripts, and presentations
• Coordinate research and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers
