Director / Senior Director, Research Engineering, Life Sciences AI

Lila Sciences is seeking a Director/Senior Director of Research Engineering to lead the development of their Life Sciences AI computational platform. This role involves hands-on architecture and coding, as well as building and managing an engineering team. You will be responsible for the core codebase that powers scientific models and ensure engineering standards are met.

• Architect and build the core LSAI codebase and infrastructure
• Set and enforce engineering standards for code quality and testing
• Make architectural decisions balancing rigor and scientific user needs
• Define platform roadmap to enable rapid iteration and reproducibility
• Build and manage an engineering team while remaining a hands-on contributor
• Design and build core software platforms for scientists and engineers
