Lead Machine Learning Scientist, New AI Products and Platforms

The New York Times is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Scientist to build next-generation AI experiences for readers. You will lead a team in developing embedding models and semantic retrieval algorithms to power AI features across products, integrating ML and AI into user-facing applications.

• Lead design and training of embedding models for representation learning
• Fine-tune, adapt, and evaluate language models for custom use cases
• Productionalize embedding and language models with engineering teams
• Define practices for evaluation and responsible AI use
• Identify novel project opportunities and scope product improvements
• Build and facilitate cross-organizational relationships
