Research Engineer

Outset is seeking a Research Engineer to build and maintain the systems that enable our scientists to conduct AI-powered user research at scale. You will own the evaluation infrastructure, implement measurement pipelines, and ensure the reproducibility and validity of our research experiments. This role is ideal for engineers with experience supporting computational social science research and a strong background in LLM systems.

• Own evaluation infrastructure for testing modeling approaches
• Implement precise measurement pipelines for scientific studies
• Build and maintain data pipelines for human behavior data
• Ensure research code aligns with production product
• Support scientists with reproducible and scalable research systems
• Experience with LLM systems and cloud infrastructure
