About this role

HubSpot is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to build the foundational AI infrastructure powering our next generation of agentic product experiences. You will shape the core systems for agent runtime, evaluation, quality, and model optimization, creating leverage across the company. This is a high-scope infrastructure role focused on solving ambiguous, foundational problems in AI.

Develop tooling for understanding model performance and identifying gaps
Design signal pipelines to proactively surface quality issues
Define AI benchmarks for HubSpot's specific workloads
Create systems for evaluating new models, improving quality, and reducing cost
Influence technical direction for AI infrastructure across the company
