About this role
Agrilife Research is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop and implement methodologies for characterizing and prioritizing private working lands based on flood mitigation potential and land-conversion risk. This role involves designing and analyzing landowner surveys, and translating prioritization maps into conservation outcomes. The position also includes secondary responsibilities in extension and outreach, such as facilitating community workshops and contributing to decision-support toolkits.
What we are looking for
6- Develop and implement spatially explicit methodology for prioritizing private working lands
- Support creation of a Texas Coastal Prairie value-risk prioritization map
- Design and analyze landowner surveys using Protection Motivation Theory and PPGIS
- Facilitate community workshops with landowners and conservation partners
- Contribute to a decision-support toolkit with interactive maps and tools
- Ph.D. in natural resources, geography, ecology, environmental science, or related field
