Transportation Data Scientist (AI Solutions)

Leidos is seeking a Transportation Data Scientist to support FHWA-funded projects focused on AI, data science, and transportation. This role involves developing and deploying AI/ML models for applications like vehicle load classification and crash prediction, and creating data ecosystems for trustworthy AI. The position is based full-time at the customer site in McLean, VA.

• Assist in data and literature reviews for AI methods, datasets, and technologies
• Prepare and integrate datasets for AI use cases, including cleaning and fusing multi-source data
• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML models for transportation applications
• Evaluate AI model performance and provide recommendations for improvement
• Support stakeholder outreach and engagement with transportation agencies and vendors
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with USDOT goals
