About this role

Upstart is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to define the technical direction for offer optimization and conversion modeling systems. This role involves structuring ambiguous problems, designing solutions that consider customer journey interactions, and providing technical oversight to ensure cross-team alignment towards a unified vision. You will work at the intersection of machine learning, optimization, and causal inference to improve marketplace efficiency and borrower outcomes.
