Accounting Analyst, Ceded Close & Regulatory

Join Markel's Finance team as an Accounting Analyst, Ceded Close & Regulatory. You will be responsible for the accurate processing, accounting, and administration of our reinsurance portfolio, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and supporting financial reporting. This role offers the opportunity to enhance reinsurance processes and collaborate across departments to achieve business goals.

• Own accuracy of monthly reinsurance cessions
• Perform monthly and quarterly accounting functions
• Prepare general ledger entries and support month-end close
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure SOX compliance
• Prepare financial reporting and variance analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive process improvements
