Lead Tax Accountant, Tax Audit & Compliance

Join Markel as a Lead Tax Accountant to support federal, state, and international tax audits and compliance. You will partner directly with tax leadership, interact with taxing authorities, and leverage AI and technology to drive innovation in tax processes. • Support federal, state, local, and international tax audits and examinations
• Prepare and respond to documentation requests from taxing authorities
• Analyze tax returns and audit workpapers to identify risks and develop strategies
• Manage tax notices and correspondence through resolution
• Review and prepare income and non-income tax compliance workpapers and filings
• Leverage AI, automation, and data analytics to improve tax processes
